Star Run - Save the Date Friday, September 26th
What is the Star Run?
The Star Run will be our largest fundraiser of the year. Participants earn money by running, jogging or walking laps and will have 30 minutes to reach 10 laps. Student participants get pledges from family, friends, neighbors, or businesses to support their efforts. Donors can either pledge a certain amount of money per lap or make a flat donation in support of our school.
When is the Star Run?
Friday, September 26, 2025
- 8:30 – 9:15 a.m. – Kindergarten and 1st Grade
- 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. – Grades 2, 3, and 4
- 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. – Grades 5 and 6
How do I get Pledges?
Ask family and friends! First, register your child at https://pledgestar.com/portal and follow the simple registration steps.
- Create the account in the gown-ups name and then add students in the “Enter Runners” section
- You can add multiple students to one Account
- If you register with the same email address you can import the pledge contacts from previous years in the “Add Family and Friends + Track Donations” section.
What is the goal?
Last year we raised $44,775 with a big push to fund our playground campaign and this year our goal is $40,000. If every participant can raise $95, we can achieve our goal! This year the PTO is focused on ensuring we can fund our playground campaign and continue to provide amazing opportunities and resources for our staff and students throughout the year.

Star Run Sponsor Request
Does your family own a business or work for a company that would be interested in supporting the Portal Star Run this year? The Portal Star Run is our largest annual school fundraiser, and we are looking for event sponsors and prize donations. In the past, the funds raised by the Portal Star Run provided improvements to our school such as modern water filling stations as well as musical equipment, field trips and other teaching aids, all to help improve the student and teacher experience at Portal Elementary. This year we are specifically raising funds to replace and improve our aging outdoor recess equipment. Every sponsorship dollar we raise helps to offset our operating cost and ensure every dollar the students raise goes directly to the school. The Portal Star Run is also an opportunity for you to promote your organization while supporting the teachers and students of the Portal Elementary community.
Below are the 2024 sponsorship giving levels but every dollar raised helps! Please confirm your commitment to sponsor the Portal Star Run by Monday, September 15, by emailing Jessica Palimenio (PortalStarRun@Gmail.com) in order for your logo to be included in our materials.
Shooting Star - $750
- Presenting sponsor acknowledgement
- Prominent large logo placement at the top of the Star Run Donation Portal Website
- Yard signage the day of the event (if logos are received by September 16th)
- Acknowledgement in the parent packet shared with over 400 student families
- Logo included on the footer of the Star Run Donation Portal Website

Gold Star - $500
- Prominent large logo placement at the top of the Star Run Donation Portal Website
